Sunday, July 23rd Concert in Boisdale - Celebrating Fr. Francis and Janet Cameron

We celebrated our very own Father Francis and Janet Cameron to thank them for all of the wonderful work they have done in promoting, supporting, and encouraging Gaelic/Celtic culture, in particular fiddling, in Cape Breton. It was a lovely day at the Boisdale Fire Hall with a full house and a wonderful group of musicians to honor these two lovely people! Of course, because Janet and Francis are such an intregal part of the association, our fiddlers were there to perform along with many others who all love Francis and Janet. Messages from people unable to attend included Natalie MacMaster, Ashley MacIsaac, and The Honorable Justin Trudeau. A tune was presented to Fr. Francis and Janet from the fiddlers' Association written by Brenda Stubbert; a strathspey (Francis' favorite type of tune) entitled "Honoring Father Francis and Janet Cameron." At the end of the afternoon, the volunteer fire department officially named the stage of the Boisdale Hall "The Cameron Stage" in honor of Father Francis and Janet. Here are some pictures of this amazing day!
